Northampton hosts Hometown Heroes Wreath Laying Ceremony

Nearly 100 attendees braved the rain to honor first responders and military at Union Cemetery

The Northampton Township Veterans Advisory Commission recently hosted its 2022 Hometown Heroes Wreath Laying Ceremony to honor first responders and military laid to rest at Union Cemetery, 209 Almshouse Road, Richboro.

The event took place Dec. 3, at 11 a.m. Despite heavy rainfall, nearly 100 people were in attendance.

Color Guard and Firing Squad were provided by the Marine Corps League Patriot Detachment 1230. Master of Ceremonies was Kristin Reilly. The invocation was by Chaplain Doug Fulfold. The keynote speaker was Northampton chief of police Steve LeCompte.

Wreaths were placed at the headstones marked with an American flag.
